Poster Templates

We offer poster templates for a variety of needs. No two events are the same so we have created multiple templates that can be used depending on your needs. There are also certain elements that are locked, but think of these as a base to get you started. For some circumstances, you may need to move pieces around to fit your event and that's perfectly fine.

These templates are designed using Google Slides, a free and accessible option for all our campus community. The templates are tabloid paper size (11" x 17") so that it can be printed at this size or scaled down to legal or letter paper depending on what your printer is capable of. 

Instructions

Editable fields:

To create the file

• Open poster template in Slides
• Click File
• Go to Make a copy
• In the pop up window, decide where to save it in your Drive
• Click OK

To replace text

• Double click so text is selected
• Type or paste in the new text
• Click outside the text box when finished

For things where there is already formatting like date/time areas, try to replicate what is displayed in the template.

To replace images

• Click on the image
• Go to Replace image in the menu bar
• Select where you want to replace the image from
• Select image
• Double click the image to adjust the position/scale of the image in the frame
  • If changing size, make sure to click the corners to drag and resize while holding down Shift in order to keep the appropriate ratio of the image
• Click anywhere outside the image when done

To save the finished file

• Click File
• Hover over Download
• In the menu that appears, click PDF Document (.pdf) and it will save a PDF to your computer.

To reproduce the file

This template is designed for tabloid size paper (11" x 17"). If you are printing a small quantity, you can use your department printer to produce posters. If you wish to print larger quantities or sizes, please contact Virginia Correctional Enterprises.
