Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the unified voice of the student body at Christopher Newport University. Our mission is to advocate for the interests, needs, and concerns of all students while fostering collaboration between students, faculty, and administration to create meaningful, positive change across campus.

Through dedicated leadership and active engagement, SGA works to:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive by-laws that strengthen student representation.
  • Build lasting relationships with the campus community to ensure every student’s voice is heard.
  • Promote authentic student influence in decision-making processes, including the allocation of student fees, grants, and conference funds.

SGA champions student voice through its committees, initiatives, and ongoing efforts to understand and address student perspectives every day.

If you have ideas, feedback, or concerns about your CNU experience, we want to hear from you! Contact us at sga@cnu.edu or reach out to any SGA delegate or executive board member to make your voice count.
