Leadership Training and Education
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." — John Quincy Adams
We encourage all students to get involved in one (or more!) of our leadership development programs:
Participants explore aspects of leadership and personal development focusing on the ideas of personal strengths and abilities, developing self-leadership, and becoming an actively engaged citizen. The program is geared toward students who have little to no college leadership experience, and it seeks to establish the foundation for successful student leadership at Christopher Newport.
Awards acknowledge the outstanding leadership students provide across campus. The highest student leadership award, the Dean’s Service Award, is presented to outstanding seniors.
The Office of Student Activities facilitates retreats and new officer training for student organizations. Retreats may include goal setting, team building, skill building and event planning
