Fitness classes start Monday, January 24.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, "group exercise offers a variety of benefits you might miss out on if you choose to work out on your own" (Dolan, S., 2012).

Classes are free, but you need to register through IMLeagues. Class reservations are available 48 hours prior to the class start time.

All classes are held in the Trieshmann Health and Fitness Pavilion, multipurpose rooms (MPR) #1 and #2.

Class Descriptions

High-intensity workout using bodyweight exercises, dumbbells and other equipment for all fitness levels. Get your heart rate up with exercises focused on various aspects of athletics such as power, balance and agility. Bring a towel or mat if you’d like, and be ready to sweat your way into a good mood.

Build strength and endurance through varying intensities and resistance. With fun music and rhythmic riding, you are sure to smile as you break a sweat. Please wear supportive sneakers or spin shoes and come well hydrated. Let’s ride! 

A dance cardio focused class that will combine weight training with easy to follow movements. This class will feel more like a party than a workout. Bring your own mat.

Blends punches, kicks and other fun cardio moves into an energizing workout. Includes core work and a relaxing stretch. 

A concentrated toning class for the abs and back, followed by a stretch. 

A hybrid of cardio and toning combining cycling and barre exercises. After a warm-up, engage in 30 minutes of indoor cycling. Then, hope off the bike and sculpt your legs and core with Barre-style exercises. All fitness levels welcome!

A high-intensity cardio focused spin class that incorporates muscle-building strength training set to your favorite music. Bring your water and a towel and prepare to sweat!

A fun, moderate to high-intensity workout that will burn calories and build strength by mixing cardio, weights, intervals and circuits. Workouts can be scaled to all fitness levels.

A 45 minute cardio and strength fitness session incorporating cardio kickboxing, bodyweight exercises, and core work. Concludes with relaxing yoga stretches.

A lower-body toning workout with various resistance equipment (hand weights, barbells/body bars, resistance bands and stability balls), followed by a relaxing stretch.

A full body workout using light weight training with high reps and bodyweight movements to build strength and muscular endurance.

Start off your day with an energizing, motivating yoga practice. All levels welcome.

A combination of ballet, Pilates, and yoga inspired movements for a upbeat and energetic full body workout

A 30 minute class that will focus on increasing flexibility through static and dynamic stretches. This class is open to all levels just bring your mat and a positive attitude!

Relax your body and mind after a busy week. Yin is a slow-paced style of yoga in which postures are held for longer periods of time (1–5 minutes). Yin yoga can help you develop flexibility by letting you relax into a pose, soften your muscles and move deeper into each posture. It’s also beneficial for the mind. During the practice, you will be guided through breathing exercises and meditation that will help you calm your mind and focus on the present moment. All fitness levels welcome.

A mind/body practice focusing on breath, intention and poses. Flow from one yoga pose to the other for an energizing yet relaxing practice. Novice and experienced yogis welcome. Note: Bring your own mat (mats are not provided).
